The 2019 Serge & Olga Koussevitzky Young Artist Awards, sponsored by the Musicians Club of New York, will be held May 4-5, 2019. The competition, which cycles annually through strings, piano, woodwinds/brass and voice, will be a woodwinds/brass competition this year, open to players up to age 30 as of Saturday April 4, 2019. The Finals Concert, which is open to the public, will be held on Sunday, May 5th, 3:30 PM, at Victor Borge Hall, Scandinavia House, New York City. The Awards Ceremony will be presented, immediately following, at the Musicians Club of New York's Joseph H. Conlin Benefit Gala in Scandanavia House's Volvo Hall. All Finalists' performances will be videotaped and a copy provided to the artists.
Requirements include two rounds solo recital repertoire, which must be approved in advance, and a letter of recommendation from a school or teacher. In lieu of a letter of recommendation, prize winners of any major open competition may also be accepted.
Application Fee: $65 - You can pay by mailing in a check (address on application) or click here to pay by credit card on Square Market. You can also fill out your credit card information on the application form. A maximum of 48 competitors will be accepted. Anyone who applies and is not accepted will have their application fee refunded.

Prizes:First Prize: $3,000; Second Prize: $2,000; Third Prize: $1,000; Other Finalists: $250; all Finalists receive a video of their performance. In addition to their cash prize, each of the three prize winners receives a recital on the Musicians Club of New York’s Concert Series, which includes two $300 performance fees, one for the prize winner and one for their accompanist.
The Finals Concert will be filmed and will appear on Manhattan Public Access cable television, after which the Musicians Club of New York will get a copy with full rights. Excerpts from the Finals Concert will be put on the Musicians Club of New York's website through YouTube; in addition, all Finalists will receive a copy (download) of their performance for their personal use.
